Match Result and Report

Winslow won by 6 wkts
Winslow Town Cricket club won its first trophy for a number of years by coming out on top in the George Blow Cup Final. A youthful Winslow side performed to the best of its ability with bat and ball and thoroughly deserved its win with all the members of the team contributing. At times the aggressive batting of the opposition, in particular Moreton's opener Paul Stairs, put the Winslow bowlers under pressure but the bowlers were never dominated and 112 could not be considered a great effort in the conditions.

Marcus Sales and Paul Stolworthy provided Winslow with a good platform as they often have done but the innings wobbled when Sales and skipper Brian Knaves became 2 legs of a hat-trick. Possibly the crucial moment in the game was reached when James Gaskins was dropped behind off his first ball - Hamilton missed out on his hat-trick and Gaskins went on to make sure that Moreton missed out on the Cup. The 15-year-old went on to make a fine 45 in his customary breezy style and with some excellent support from Martin Sales and 14 year old Simon Myatt Winslow eased to a comfortable victory.
