Match Result and
Report
|
| Amersham U14s won by 7 wkts |
Winslow Town Under 14s ended a memorable season with an appearance in the final of the Bucks County Under 14 competition - The Marlow Park Trophy. This is the first County final that the Winslow Boys have reached and was well deserved to mark their performances this term. Sent into bat, Winslow recovered from the early loss of opener Simon Myatt with a fine stand between James Gaskins (26) and Michael Ives (28). Ives smashing two huge 6's over mid-wicket to get the innings back on track. Harry Welch contributed 16 before James Bishop (20no) and Henry Longton with a superb 32no left Winslow with a very creditable 142 for 5 at the end of their 20 overs. Amersham launched at the Winslow attack from the start with openers Kilgannon (28) and Ollie Haddock 65. Haddock who captains the County U14s had already scored over 1200 runs for school and club this season and it was his innings that proved decisive as Amersham ran out winners by 7 wkts.
