Match Result and
Report
|
| Winslow won by 54 runs |
On a lovely sunny evening Winslow U13s took on their opponents from Tring who bought with them an undefeated ADL record. Winslow captain Callum Roberts won the toss and elected to bat. Openers Price and Amos found the Tring bowling to their liking and put on an opening partnership of 67 before Amos was bowled for 16. Price followed soon after, 4 short of his half century on 46. Webb and Myatt continued to take the attack to the bowlers and added 40 before Myatt was out, trying to be a little too clever, for a hard hit 36. Webb went for 12 and Wickes and Roberts saw the score to 135 for 4 before the innings closed. The Tring openers both looked useful and took the total to 29 before Amos and Bishop combined to get Mortimer out for 6. Price then removed the other opener for 12 in his next over. With the first ball of his next over Bishop removed Criddell for 2 caught by Wickes. He took his third wicket with the last ball of the over before a further two wickets with the first two balls of his next over gave him a hat-trick. A further wicket in the over gave him match figures of 6 for 20. Myatt took a caught and bowled with his first ball meaning that Tring had slipped from 47 for 3 to 49 for 9, including a sharp run out by Hampton. Thomas showed good resistance at the end with a hard hitting 23 before Webb took the final wicket leaving Tring all out for 81, and Winslow victorious by 54 runs.
