Match Result and Report

Winslow beat Little Kingshill by 108 runs
Little Kingshill won the toss and put Winslow into bat.

Winslow scored quite easily after an early dismissal of P Stolworthy who misjudged and played pad to bat and hit wicket. P Arnold played very well supporting Glyn Davis and Graham Eccles. I Herbertson topped scored and made the hosts pay dearly for being dropped four (4) times. D Bone continued the able batting scoring a tidy 44. The Winslow run rate of 6 an over was excellent.

All in all some good stroke play considering first game of season, however, a word of caution, Winslow must be aware of airing to many shots come the start of the league games.

Little Kingshill were never likely to reach the target set by Winslow of 240 from 40 overs after losing early wickets. Ben Galloni striking 3 times which included 2 wickets in his second over and just missing a hat-trick. M Callaghan tidy with few run conceded kept the pressure on. P Stolworthy and G Eccles then took the heart out of the batting leaving I Herberston, J Waugh and D Bone to deliver the final blows.

Good fielding by Winslow included six held catches three going to G Davis who played well behind the stumps. Winslow gave a lot of extra's particularly in wides but the breezy condition did not help matters. In all a good start to the season.
