Match Result and
Report
|
| Match drawn
(Winslow 15 points, Old Bradwell 10 points) |
For Winslow stalwart Graham Eccles this was
a warm sunny Saturday afternoon to remember. His 87 runs was complimented by his
bowling figures of 6 for 21 in 5 overs. Winslow loosing the toss were put into bat. As seems to be the norm the openers again under performed and Winslow were in trouble. B Knaves, Glyn Davis and P Arnold being disposed quite tamely by the Old Bradwell attack. Graham Eccles (87) from the moment he went to the crease began asking questions of the Old Braswell attack and with the support of Iain Herbertson (21) and Fenton Price (45) simply tore the attack apart. Ian Davis added to the Winslow momentum with a very brisk (30). All very entertaining, Winslow's recovery was virtually complete and they finished on 219. Old
Bradwell's reply was kept firmly in check by the Winslow opening bowlers Kieran Price and Iain Herbertson. Both got early wickets. Old
Bradwell's reply was heavily indebted to S Phillipson who got 75 and G Hitches 45. With the run rate never really being a threat to
Winslow's score Graham Eccles then when brought into the attack rattled through the Old Bradwell
batting like a knife through hot butter. With a Winslow victory in sight Old Bradwell managed to hold out for the last wicket.
